Governance and Sustainability

The Nest Baby Haven is built with a commitment to responsible, transparent, and accountable care.

From the outset, the Haven is being developed in alignment with established child protection frameworks and regulatory requirements. Safeguarding is central to the model, ensuring that every child is cared for in a safe, consistent, and protected environment.

Clear structures for oversight and accountability are in place to support:

  • • Responsible use of donor funding
  • • Consistent standards of care
  • • Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the model
  • • Ethical and compliant operations

We recognise that trust is built over time through clarity, consistency, and responsible stewardship. Alongside this, The Nest is designed with long-term sustainability in mind.

While donor support plays a vital role, the intention is to build a model that is not reliant on once-off giving alone.

Heritage Haven, a restored village home in Greyton, forms part of this approach.

As a short-term rental property, it will generate ongoing income, with proceeds directly supporting the daily care of the babies at The Nest.

Over time, this model may expand to include additional properties, creating a small portfolio of income-generating homes that contribute to the operational stability of the Haven.

In parallel, we aim to:

  • • Build a base of recurring monthly donors
  • • Establish long-term partnerships with aligned individuals and organisations
  • • Develop an endowment fund to support future continuity
  • • Provide steady, uninterrupted care, independent of short-term funding cycles
